Deputy President William Ruto's allies have continued to rubbish election opinion polls terming them manipulated surveys.

Nominated senator Isaac Mwaura has reiterated his disdain against the studies saying they are cooked and choreographed to portray Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga as the favourite.

"Trying to say that because of opinion polls, that are cooked, that Azimio is leading, I want to tell him they should be prepared to continuously play their role in the opposition," Mwaura said.

"And they should not expect a handshake this time round," he added.

Mwaura who spoke on KTN on Monday said Azimio are trying to project their win based on fabricated opinion polls.

He said the people are on the DP's side but research firms are manipulating their surveys by increasing undecided votes to 10 per cent.

"They are in for a very rude shock because the people are with William Ruto."

Mwaura was confident of a Ruto win saying his popularity over Raila will be reflected through the ballot on August 9.

Latest survey by Trends and Insights Africa (TIFA) showed that Raila would beat Ruto in the presidential race.

The poll suggested that 42 per cent of Kenyan voters identify with Raila compared to 39 per cent who said they would vote for Ruto.

On July 12, Mwaura claimed that Kenya Kwanza's internal opinion polls had Ruto ahead of Raila.

He dismissed the TIFA survey.

"There is a lot of cooking, our own internal polls are showing a different scenario. Ruto is ahead by 54 per cent. The ones we are discussing here are cooked," he said.
