Amos Nyaribo most popular in Nyamira governor race - Poll

Nyaribo would successfully defend his seat by garnering 36 per cent of the vote.

Amos Nyaribo of UPA would emerge victorious as Nyamira governor if elections were held today, a Tifa poll has revealed.

The survey released on Thursday indicates that Nyaribo would successfully defend his seat by garnering 36 per cent of the vote against his closest rival Walter Nyambati who would manage a paltry 19 per cent of the vote.

The poll shows that Timothy Bosire of ODM  would get 11 per cent of the vote, Ben Momanyi of Wiper 9 per cent while Jubilee's Mwancha Okioma would get 1 per cent.

James Gesami would on the other hand score below one per cent. 

Undecided voters were 22 per cent.  

In the presidential race, Azimio's flag bearer Raila Odinga's popularity in the county has risen by 20 per cent while that of his closest rival William Ruto of UDA has dropped.

The survey indicates that Raila's popularity now stands at 58 per cent compared to Ruto's 26 per cent.

Undecided voters were 17 per cent.  

In the senate race, Eric Okong'o Mogeni polled 39 per cent, Kennedy Mong’areOkong’o (13%), Nyambega Mose (7%), Adams Mochenwa 1%). 

Undecided voters were 32 per cent.  

Jerusha Momanyi is the most preferred Women Representative candidate with 28 per cent of the vote.

She's followed a distant second by Emily Nyagarama with 21 per cent of the vote. The other candidates scored below 5 per cent.

Undecided voters were 36 per cent.  

The poll was conducted between July 5 and 7, 2022 and had a margin of error of +/-3.0 per cent. 

A total of 626 respondents were interviewed using telephonic interviews.

The respondents were distributed across the constituencies proportionate to population size.

Borabu constituency accounted for 20 per cent of the respondents, North Mugirango (20), West Mugirango (27%) and Kitutu Masaba (33%).

In terms of gender, female respondents accounted for 46 per cent while male respondents were 54 per cent.

The poll showed that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance political alliance enjoys the biggest support in Nyamira county with 56 per cent approval rating followed by Kenya Kwanza with 23 per cent support.

In terms of party support, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) enjoys the biggest support with 44 per cent followed by UDA with 21 per cent.

Jubilee enjoys 2 per cent approval while United Progressive Alliance 1 per cent.
