The 12th parliament had its high and low moments since it came into existence in 2017.
Among the lowest moments was when the Members of the National Assembly had to mourn and bury their colleagues.
A report has revealed that 10 MPs died in office between 2017 and 2022.
This is according to a report by Mzalendo Trust titled The Legislative Scorecard.
Kitui West Member of Parliament Francis Nyenze died on December 6, 2017.
He had been ailing for some time and was even sworn in while carrying an oxygen tank in the National Assembly.
On April 20, 2018, Baringo South Mp Grace Kipchoim passed on while undergoing treatment in a Nairobi hospital.
Despite being sickly throughout her campaign period, Grace Kipchoim was re-elected as Baringo South MP in a highly contested election.
On July 26, 2019, Kibra MP Ken Okoth 41, died at Nairobi Hospital.
After a long battle with cancer, Kibra Mp Ken Okoth asked his family to switch off the life support machine.
Msambweni Member of Parliament Suleiman Dori died on March 9, 2020, at the Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa.
He passed on at the hospital where he was receiving treatment for cancer.
Matungu MP Justus Murunga died on November 14, 2020, at the St Mary’s Mission Hospital in Mumias.
He was reported to have been ailing for two weeks and had been battling diabetes.
After a long battle with arthritis, Kabuchai MP James Lusweti died on December 4, 2020.
On February 15, 2021, Bonchari MP John Oroo Oyioka died following a long illness.
A week later, Juja MP Francis Munyua Waititu passed away on February 22, 2021, at Mp Shah Hospital after a long battle with brain cancer.
Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange died on March 31, 2021, at a Nairobi hospital while receiving treatment.
And in the latest case, Rabai Member of Parliament William Kamoti died in a road accident on May 30, 2022.
The accident occurred at Mnarani black spot on the Kilifi-Mombasa Highway.
