Police are investigating an incident in which the body of a female aged about 24 was found dumped by the roadside in Sunton area, Kasarani, Nairobi.

The body had deep cut wounds in the head when it was discovered by pedestrians who alerted police.

It was later moved to the mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.

Police said they believe the victim was killed elsewhere and the body dumped in the area.

Such incidents of discovery of bodies on the roadside have been fluctuating in the city and some of them remain unsolved.

Five more cases of suicide were reported in the country on Tuesday in an ongoing worrying trend.

This increased to ten, the number of cases in just two days.

The latest ones were reported in Wundanyi, Chwele, Nakuru, Ainabich in Eldoret and Navakholo in Kakamega.

The victims were all male and died by hanging.

Cases of suicide have been on the rise in the country at an alarming rate amid calls to address the menace.

At least two cases are reported daily.
