Deputy President William Ruto on Monday welcomed Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

This is after Mutua announced that he had dumped Azimo and will now be working with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

The DP while welcoming Mutua said the move by the MCC party indicates that Kenyans have rejected the politics of blackmail.

"The people of Kenya have rejected blackmail, deceit and conmanship in our politics. Those who've taken our country hostage using patronage, force and impunity watajua hawajui na wakenya hawapangwingwi," Ruto tweeted.

Mutua while announcing his defection to Kenya Kwanza said Ruto is the best person to liberate Kenyans from the york of poverty.

"Deputy President William Ruto is a good man and he will change this country. Last night we signed an agreement with Kenya Kwanza and here is a copy," he said in a press conference.

"Unlike Azimio, here is a document we signed and we know its content," he said.

He said they also agreed with Ruto on zero zoning.

"All our aspirants will be on the ballot. We also agreed on the role we'll play when Kenya Kwanza wins and vice versa."

Mutua also hinted at more parties within the Azimio moving out soon though he did not reveal their identities.
