Man hacked to death at chang'aa den in Kuresoi

Trouble started when the deceased noticed his Sh23,500 was missing from his pocket.

A visit by a man to a local chang'aa den for indulgence in the traditional brew in Kuresoi turned tragic after the owner of the den and her son hacked him to death. 

Stanley Sing’oei, 39, met the untimely death after he was attacked by the duo and hacked to death with a machete at Arorwet village, Kuresoi subcounty, Nakuru County. 

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Monday, April 18, 2022.

The Directorate of criminal Investigations, George Kinoti, said trouble started when Sing'oei noticed that Sh23,500 he had in his pocket was missing.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Kinoti said Sing'oei turned to the woman and asked her whether she had taken the money.

A confrontation ensued attracting the attention of the woman's husband and their 17-year-old son who hacked him to death using a machete.

The area assistant chief, Hillary Rotich, who was among the first responders rushed to the scene and found Sing’oei’s lifeless body on the ground with a deep cut on his head.

The assistant chief alerted detectives based at Kuresoi police station who then arrest of the three family members.

The murder weapon was also recovered and kept as exhibit.

The suspects are being processed to be charged for murder.
