Who's doing what to whom, why, when where and how.

A deputy governor from an ODM-controlled county has threatened to expose his boss's dirty deals. The Number Two has fallen out with his boss because the governor reneged on his promise to back him for the county's top seat, for two terms.  The man, who still insists on running for governor despite the statistics working against him, has been in close contact wit the governor's critics. They want him to release the dossier and dish the dirt. During their happier days, the DG was his boss's spanner boy and insiders said he executed several deals on behalf of his boss. The influential governor now wants his disgruntled deputy out of way with a direct ticket for MP.

Just why is a first-term senator hailing from a relatively cosmopolitan county so confident that he will retain the seat? The man has been telling whoever cares to listen that he does not need to campaign for his reelection. The bravado defies the fact that he's facing strong opposition for the seat. Recently, he boasted to his colleagues in Parliament that he's a handshake candidate and does not need to toil on the campaign trail. Those following closely say the man appears disinterested and oblivious to the campaigns being fashioned against him by other parties.

A cartel that has tightened its grip on a Nyanza county treasury for the last eight years is operating in a panic mode. For the last couple of days, some of its members have gone on a drinking spree, crying into their beer after their preferred governor candidate failed to get their dream ticket. They were further hit by a political thunderbolt when the outgoing governor backed an aspirant they least expected as his successor. One cartel confidant whispers to Corridors of Power that the fellows are ‘sick’ from the shocks. A tipsy member of the group was overheard saying in a bar that they have nothing left for their future.

A political formation was to unveil a senior politician as a governor aspirant but the guest failed to show up at the agreed venue in Nairobi. MPs and other leaders from the county were there to witness the event but they all went home disappointed. The expected visitor failed to arrive and his phones were all switched off. Sources say leaders of the formation became bitter and accused the party leader, who was to come with the guest, of not being serious.
