Governor Jackson Mandago has denied being involved in the planning of an incident where a chopper carrying opposition chief Raila Odinga was stoned in Uasin Gishu.
An agitated Mandago said he was above such cheap schemes, adding that Raila and his team used his car after he landed in Eldoret for the funeral of Mzee Jackson Kiprotiich Kibor.
The governor said his vehicle was stoned during the incident at Kabenes after Kibor's burial.
"How can I scheme or plan to have my vehicle stoned," said Mandago.
He urged Police IG Hillary Mutyambai to ensure all those involved in the incident are arrested and prosecuted.
Mandago warned youth in the region against getting involved in such incidents.
"My stand on peace and unity is clearly known," he said.
Mandago accused MPs Junet Mohammed and Babu Owino of playing cheap politics by linking him to the incident
He said utterances by Owino and Junet were inciteful, adding that they were a political liability.
He spoke as police in the region revealed that 14 suspects had been arrested in Uasin Gishu over the stoning of Raila's chopper at Kabenes.
A key political leader in the region has also been linked to planning the incident.
Area county commissioner Stephen Kihara says the politician will be arrested soon.
Kihara says those arrested have given details of how the incident was planned.
The suspects were arrested during a police operation last night.
"We will not rest until those involved are brought to book," said Kihara.
