Ruto storms Machakos and Wajir counties in vote hunt mission

The Deputy president has intensified campaigns in areas deemed as Raila's strongholds.

Deputy President William Ruto will on Wednesday begin his campaigns in Kitui County, before proceeding to Machakos and Wajir.

Ruto is currently on a charm offensive of the lower and North eastern regions, in a bid to woo residents to vote for him the August 9 polls.

This comes despite the region being seen to be behind ODM leader Raila Odinga, following his partnership with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

In Kitui, the deputy president will continue his tour which began on Tuesday with meetings in Ciampiu Town, Mwingi North Sub county and Mwingi town, in Mwingi Central Sub county.

He will then proceed to Machakos County where he will meet local leaders and residents Kaviani, Kikambuani and Masii areas.

"Please note that the program of the day starts at 10:00am then rolls on," stated a notice from Ruto's communication team.

Ruto will end his day in Wajir County where he is expected to hold a leaders' meeting at the Wajir Guest House, in Wajir town.
