Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has urged the Azimio la Umoja coalition to come up with a strategy that will help them defeat Kenya Kwanza.

In an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Olekina urged Azimio to draft a plan that will see them front candidates who will emerge victorious in the August 9, polls.

The Senator is seeking re-election for a second term as Narok Senator.

Further, the Senator expressed his opposition to nominations.

“If I am asked, I would wish that we avoid nominations and employ consensus to be able to get the right candidates,” Ledama said.

"I’m not worried about the 25 political parties. What I’m worried about is the strategy that will enable us to defeat UDA to ensure that we form the next government. That to me is what is very important."

He added: "I am not worried about nominations. Let every political party carry out the exercise, but ultimately after each party carries out the nominations in the Azimio movement, I would hope that our coalition will now sit down together...nothing stops ODM or Jubilee from withdrawing a candidate".

He warned that if candidates in respective parties under Azimio won't come to a consensus then they might be defeated by those in Kenya Kwanza.
