Ruto in Machakos as Raila visits his Kisumu stronghold

This will be the DP's first public event after returning to the country.

Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza Alliance will on Friday take their campaigns to Machakos County.

This comes just a day after the second in command silently returned to the country from his 12-day trip abroad.

Ruto will be accompanied by his coalition partners Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya).

They are expected to sell their bottom up economic agenda to the people of the county that is highly regarded as Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's stronghold.

During his trip, Ruto was accompanied to the US and UK by Mudavadi among other elected leaders from the National Assembly and senate.

ODM leader Raila Odinga will on the other hand visit Kisumu County which is regarded as his 'home turf'.

He is also expected to sell his Azimio la Umoja message to residents of Kisumu ahead of his big day on Saturday.

Raila will be holding his Azimio National Delegates Conference, where he is expected to be unveiled as the outfits presidential flagbearer.

The Azimio NDC will also conclude a 10 day campaign cycle he has had across different counties.
