Petroleum Cabinet Secretary John Munyes has resigned.

Munyes will be contesting for a political seat in the upcoming August General election.

Munyes, who is seeking to be the next governor for Turkana County, announced his resignation on Tuesday.

He becomes the second Cabinet Secretary to step aside after Devolution CS Charles Keter.

Keter resigned to focus on his bid to become the next Kericho Governor.

Earlier, the court ruled that Civil servants who want to vie in the August 9 General Election have until tomorrow to resign from their positions.
