Three vehicles were involved in a head-on collision accident on Monday at the Bendera hotel area, along Kapsabet-Chavakali Highway.
Vihiga County police commander Benjamin Ong'ombe confirmed the incident.
While speaking to Star in a phone conversation, Ong'ombe said three vehicles were two saloon cars and one bus.
"We are happy that no causalities from that accident," Ong'ombe said.
"The bus that was on its way to Kapsabet, the driver tried to avoid the two saloon cars that had involved in a minor accident," Ong'ombe cited.
"In that process, the bus tires burst and caught fire.”
He added that they are still investigating other possible issues that might have led to the outbreak of that fire on that bus as well.
Commander has appealed to drivers both on private and public vehicles to be Keen on the road to curb accidents during this festive season.
During the incident, the Modern Coast bus and one of the saloon cars burnt to ashes.
Passengers onboard were forced to dash out of the vehicle for their safety during the incident.
