Ndichu brothers now want Murgor sisters arrested, say they didn't ask for out of court settlement

The Ndichu brothers have called for the arrest of the Murgor sisters with whom they are embroiled in an assault case with.

In a letter through their lawyer, Edwin Sifuna, the brothers say Stephanie, 24, and Cheryl Murgor, 22, should be arrested for assaulting and causing actual harm to one Munira on October 17 at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel.

Paul and Edward Ndichu further denied making an offer to settle their assault case with the sisters out of court.  

“Contrary to what the Murgor Sisters are claiming, our clients have made no offers at all to settle this matter because they firmly believe in due process,” Sifuna said in a statement on Thursday.

“As such our position remains that we want to meet these extortionists in court. We will not negotiate with criminals,” he added.

On November 19, Amadi Associates Advocates wrote to Lawyer Phillip Murgor who represents the two sisters requesting to solve the matter amicably.

Lawyer Njenga Kiarie asked the sisters to consider solving the matter out of court saying the incident at the hotel was a misunderstanding.

He added that the brothers were ready to repair their damaged car at a garage of their preference, or in the alternative, reimburse them the full cost if the car had already been repaired.

The brothers have further accused the sisters of trying to intimidate the Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji, over the matter.

They claim the sisters are using their famous family name to try and influence the outcome of the case.

“The Murgor Sisters must be reminded that the ODPP is an independent office not subject to direction or control of anyone, including famous uncles,” Sifuna said.

He revealed that they have previously raised concern about the Murgors using their name to try and influence the direction the matter should take by using their "old networks" to intimidate the ODPP and DCIO Langata.

Sifuna claimed the sisters want to influence the DPP to press charges against the twins in order to blackmail them ‘in a matter they are innocent.’

“We demand the immediate arrest of the Murgor Sisters failing which a formal complaint shall be lodged against the DCIO Langata,” Sifuna said.
