Wiper party on Thursday nominated its leader Kalonzo Musyoka for the presidency during its NDC.
The Wiper National Delegates Convention took place at the Kasarani Gymnasium.
Some 6,000 delegates converged at the auditorium.
Opposition chief and ODM leader Raila Odinga, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, OKA chiefs Moses Wetang'ula, Gideon Moi and Musalia Mudavadi were present.
Kalonzo who is planning a second stab at the presidency next year has pulled a massive jamboree with delegates from all the 1,450 wards across the country.
Kalonzo said he will fight corruption, relive fortunes in the agriculture sector, reduce taxes and turn the University Loans scheme into a grant.
He said under his leadership the responsibility of paying g school fees will be shifted from parents to the government as there will be free secondary education.
"This is defining moment for the country," Kalonzo said as he accepted the nomination as Wiper's Presidential candidate.
For the first time, the party invited select university students as part of Kalonzo's vision to identify and nurture future leaders.
Delegates clad in blue caps, T-shirts and Wiper emblazoned regalia have filled the gymnasium to capacity.
Ngilu urged the opposition leaders to unite for the sake of the country.
“I have worked and travelled along distance with Kalozo, I have worked with him, I have worked with all the Oka leadership seated here, I have worked with Raila as well. My plea is that we shall expect you to continue talking for the sake of this county,” she said.
