The battle for supremacy in Mt Kenya between Deputy President William Ruto (pictured)ODM leader Raila Odinga (pictured) seems to have caught up with the leadership of a county in the region. A governor supporting one of the bigwigs is said to have declared war on MCAs who are not allied to his preferred presidential aspirant. A resident tells told Corridors of Power that the county boss further believes that ward reps who do not support his candidate will almost certainly campaign for his main opponent in next year's elections. To counter their anticipated move, the governor is said to be planning to sponsor candidates to oppose them.

Hundreds of guests invited by a first-term MP from Rift Valley for a political strategy meeting at his home with a senior national politician who is eyeing a bigger position next year left the home dismayed. Reason? It is said soon after the politician addressed them, asking them to be his political disciples, he walked out of the meeting. He didn't honour his earlier pledge to cater for their fare back home. How much lower can you go? Even the host MP was left a disgusted man, vowing not to help the budding politician any more. The host, a somewhat wealthy MP and well-known businessman had to foot all bills.

Several aides and hangers on to a senior government official who was recently transferred to another department have been left 'orphaned'. The men who have been calling the shots in the previous station of the official are unable to access their man after top officials changed his phones and numbers. The official’s security was also overhauled and a new personal assistant seconded to him. He's now inaccessible and highly guarded. The men are unable to access their former boss and after losing jobs, they have resorted to begging the official’s friends for any offers they have. Talk of being 'political' orphans at such a time.
