The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) management has said that it is continuing to work with other relevant government agencies to help trace Francis Isaac Awuor Oyaro.

Oyaro is a KWS Assistant Warden based in Marsabit National Park, who has been missing for the last three weeks.

KWS said that Oyaro applied for leave and was granted to be away from duty and was to resume on September 6, 2021.

The officer traveled from the Marsabit Station on Saturday, August 28, 2021, using a KWS van, which was heading to Nairobi and alighted in Nanyuki town to connect to Nakuru about mid-day, to see his family.

But three days later, the officer’s sister called and informed the Marsabit National Park Deputy Senior Warden that the officer had not arrived home as expected after taking leave.

The Deputy Senior Warden then reported the officer’s disappearance to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Marsabit County.

The agency said that it is cooperating with the investigative agency to trace the officer.

Members of the public have also been urged to report any information that may assist the investigation to the nearest police station or KWS station.

"We can also be reached on the Toll-Free telephone number 0800 597 000," KWS said.
