Gideon Moi: No rifts, OKA is solid

KANU party leader Gideon Moi has refuted claims that there were rifts in One Kenya Alliance (OKA) stating that all principals were together, hence it was solid.

Speaking at the Salvation Army Church, Kinyui in Matungulu, Machakos County on Sunday, Moi said he was confident that OKA will form the next government.

“I want to confirm to you that as OKA principals we are together. We are together with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who is my personal friend despite also being a friend to our Moi family,” Moi told the congregation.

He was accompanied by his Machakos counterpart Agnes Kavindu and Matungulu MP Stephen Mule among other politicians and local leaders.

“We are also together with Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula and Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi,” Moi added.

He said they as OKA principals will ensure that they stick together until they get to the ballot in 2022 general elections.

“We know that the presidency will come from OKA team. I am calling on our brothers to join us, we come together and rectify lots of bad ills in our country,” Moi said.

Moi said high costs of fuel was posing to be among the major challenges Kenyans face lately.

MP Mule said he will petition the government to lower the escalated fuel prices.

“As an MP, I am bringing a petition in parliament to make sure that Energy Regulatory Authority brings the fuel prices down. And as OKA, we will team up with parliament to ensure that fuel prices in this country are not exorbitant,” he said.

He added, “We aren’t in Somalia or Afghanistan, we are in a country where democratic people elected a government that has to be responsible. I hope that we will have a responsible government led by OKA team in 2022.”

Mule said it doesn't matter who will be the presidential candidate among the OKA principals.... "what I know is that we will form the fifth government,

Moi said as a senate, they will support Mule’s intended petition to lower fuel prices ones he tabled it in parliament.

“We will support that petition to ensure that it goes through. Let’s not be naïve, let’s go back and find out the genesis of these problems we are facing in the country,” Moi said.

He added, “We can’t wash the truth, and we can’t try to white wash and blame others when we exactly know where the problem of this country began in 2017.”

Kavindu said fuel prices in the country must go down to save Kenyans from economic burdens.
