A man has died after a robbery attack in Riruta, Nairobi county.

DCI director George Kinoti said George Omondi was sleeping when he heard people shouting outside his home.

It is at this moment that he left his house to go and find out what was happening.

On arriving, Omondi found the robbers trying to steal from a man and had already stolen his phone.

Kinoti said when the robbers saw Omondi, the robbery victim fled and the thugs stabbed Omondi twice in the stomach.

A few minutes later Omondi’s wife Jackline, stepped outside to also find out what was happening and saw a crowd of people surrounding a body that was sprawled on the ground.

“On moving closer, she was shocked to find out that the man was her 48-year-old hubby,” Kinoti said on Thursday.

He was later pronounced dead on arrival at Life Friends Medical Center. Dagoreti based detectives.

Elsewhere, a 50-year-old woman collapsed and died at Salama police station as she painfully recounted how her 19-year-old daughter had tormented her by not going home during school holidays.

Consolata Mutua, had frogmarched her daughter to the station accusing her of bad behaviour.

As she begged officers to intervene so that her daughter mends her ways, she became emotionally overwhelmed and collapsed.

Police officers and a well wisher tried to administer First Aid and resuscitate her to no avail.

They rushed her to Kilungu Sub-county Hospital where she passed away while undergoing treatment.

“Students are advised to be responsible and take the wise counsel offered by their teachers and parents in order to avoid such incidents in future,” Kinoti said.

“Religious leaders are equally called upon to take their rightful role in guiding and mentoring young adults, to becoming responsible adults in future.”
