David Njeng'ere takes over as Knec chief Executive officer

Njeng'ere will serve for a five-year term, effective July 1, 2021.

David Njeng'ere has taken over the office as the Chief Executive Officer at the Kenya National Examination Council.

Njeng'ere replaces the outgoing CEO Mercy Karogo who has been in office since 2016 when she was appointed as Acting Knec CEO.

The new CEO was appointed by Magoha on June 9 and had been serving as the CS’s adviser prior to his appointment.

Njeng'ere will serve for a term of five-year, effective July 1, 2021. He holds a Doctorate in Education from Moi University.

He previously served as Deputy Director at both the Kenya National Examination Council and the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development.

Before taking up the position, Karogo had served as senior deputy director and head of the Curriculum and Research Services department at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development.

She also held the chief executive officer post in an acting capacity on several occasions.
