Kenya on Saturday recorded 383 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, from a sample size of 3, 930, with the positivity rate now at 9.7%.
From these cases, 377 are Kenyans while six are foreigners, with 234 being males and 149 being females.
Age wise, the youngest is a seven-day-old infant while the oldest is 96 years old.
This now brings the total number of positive cases to 172,325, and the cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,830,686.
In terms of recovery, 33 patients have recovered from the disease, with 15 from the home based and isolation care while 18 are from various health facilities.
The total number of recoveries in the country stands at 117,502, with 85,306 from home based and isolation care while 32,196 are from various health facilities.
On a sad note, the country has lost 24 patients to the disease in the last 24 hours, all of them being late deaths reports arising after conducting facility record audits on diverse dates in the months of April and May.
This now brings the total number of fatalities to 3,264.
A total of 1,184 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,942 patients are on home based isolation and care.
101 patients are in ICU, 23 of whom are on ventilatory support and 54 on supplemental oxygen. 18 patients are on observation.
Another 95 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 88 of them in general wards and seven are in High Dependency Unit.
As of today, a total of 975,265 people have so far been vaccinated countrywide.
Of these, 295,486 are aged 58 years and above, 277,776 are health workers, 166,199 are teachers, while 82,720 are security officers.
On the second dose, as of Saturday, a total of 6,622 have received their second dose. Of these 4, 046 are health workers, 709 are aged 58 years and above, 445 teachers, 321 security officers while 1,101 fall under others category.
In terms of distribution of positive cases per county, Kisumu leads with 54, Nairobi 53, Kisii 37, Kilifi 33, Kericho 29, Uasin Gishu 22, Migori 19, Siaya 17, Busia 15 and Nandi 14.
Homa Bay and Nyamira have 12 cases each, Bomet and Nakuru 10 cases each, Bungoma and Vihiga five cases, Machakos four, Nyeri, Mandera and Makueni three cases each.
Embu, Narok, and Kajiado have two cases each, while Garissa, Kakamega, Kirinyaga, Kitui, Marsabit, Trans Nzoia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Turkana and West Pokot have one case each.
