Members of the National Assembly Implementation Committee now demands that the Powers and Privileges Committee take over a case where London Distillers (K) Limited accused them of receiving bribes to influence a report.

The Committee was probing claims of pollution following a petition by Erdermann which developed over 10,000 households in the Athi River neighbourhood.

On Thursday, LDK wrote to speaker Justin Muturi claiming several MPs in the Committee received free houses from Erdermann to influence the report.

The Committee chaired by Narok North MP Moitalel ole Kenta termed the bribery claims as blackmail and intimidation by LDK after failing to penetrate the committee.

He said they will not be intimidated by the distiller and will proceed to table their report.

Kenta stated the Commmitte will demand that LDK provide names and details of the members who allegedly received the units.

The committee will also write to Erdermann to provide a list of the ownership of its houses in the city.

"Having realised he (LDK) will be smoked out, it is now trying to blackmail members," Kenta said.

"This factory was supposed to be closed six months after the Environment committee submitted their report in 2018 because of pollution. There are cartels who did not get their way and are now trying to malign Parliament."

Kenta was accompanied by a host of Committee members.
