DCI detectives on Saturday night arrested 44 school children and their host in a house at Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate.

During the operation, the sleuths seized various brands of alcohol and bhang

The children – 26 boys and 18 girls - were aged between 14 and 17 years.

All are in primary and high schools.

Their host, Millicent Kithinji, aged 41, was picked up for questioning by detectives based at Dagoretti.

According to the DCI, officers seized different brands of Whisky and Vodka and bhang.

Preliminary investigations revealed the children were from Nairobi, Kiambu Machakos counties.

Already, officers have contacted some of their parents.

"Investigations are ongoing to establish how the children sneaked out of their homes and travelled that far without raising suspicion from their parents," DCI said.

Police are seeking to establish why the woman had hosted the children and how the children got to her house.

"The DCI once again requests parents to take a keen interest in their children’s activities at home and on the social media networks. Stern legal action will be taken against adults who abuse children," DCI said.
