Hallucinations: Jeff Koinange recounts Covid-19 experience

JKL TV show host Jeff Koinange has recounted his experience having Covid-19.

During an interview with Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Wednesday night, he said he had hallucinations - something he never had prior to contracting the disease.

"I would hallucinate that someone was thumping on my chest..." he said.

Koinange has since recovered from the virus.

Kenya on Wednesday recorded 957 new cases of Covid-19 bringing the country's case load to 72,686, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said.

The CS in a statement confirmed that this was from a sample size of 5,559 recording a positivity rate of 17.2 per cent.

The cumulative tests stand at 804,894.

 The county's fatalities have risen to 1,313 after another 11 patents succumbed to the disease.

Kagwe said that there are 1,191 patients currently admitted in various hospitals across the country.

Another, 6,000 patients are in the home-based care programme.

A total of 58 patients are in ICU, out of which 27 are on ventilatory support.

Also, 89 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 72 are in general wards and 17 in the HDU.

At least 2,369 healthcare workers have contracted the virus since it's index case in Kenya. Out of which, 1,186 are males and 1,183 are female workers.

Thirty healthcare workers have lost their lives since the pandemic struck.

 

Meanwhile, 2,616 patients have recovered from the disease out of which 2,434 were from the Homebased care program while 182 were discharged from various health facilities.
