Manhunt launched for six suspects who escaped from Karuri police cell

Police are looking for six suspects who escaped from Karuri police cells after a cutting part of the windows .

The six include five remandees and a convict.

According to a police report on Wednesday, Corporal Boniface Simiyu and Boniface Mwanzia while on duty heard commotion at the cells.

They went to find out what was happening and noticed that one twisted metal bar at the ventilation window had been cut and was left on the floor.

It was later established that out of the 26 prisoners who were in custody, six of them were missing.

A search for the escapees led by the Sub County Police Commander and other personnel is currently underway.
