A suspected coronavirus case was reported on Monday in Makueni County.
The Assistant Chief of Kitango sublocation, Alex Musau, reported that the lady arrived in the country from Spain where she was a student on March 18 aboard a Kenya Airways flight at around 9 pm.
A team of medics and police officers, lead by Dr Muia Musyoka, who is the subcounty's Disease Surveillance Co-ordinator in Kilome later proceeded to Kiugwani Village.
Upon her arrival, she was received by her parents and her two sisters. She was in the company of another lady who is a nun at a cathedral in Machakos.
The lady was screened at the airport and advised to put herself on quarantine for 14 days.
During the remote surveillance, it was not noted that she was living with 10 family members in the same house.
A security team in the area is monitoring the situation until the end of the quarantine period.
