The heavy rains being experienced across the country will continue through  the weekend.

The meteorological department said the wet weather in Nairobi, central parts and southern region will continue.

They noted that the rains will intensify from Wednesday to Friday but lessen over the weekend.

The latest weather forecast indicates that rains will also continue in the course of the month with occasional breaks.

Areas of concern include Nairobi,Embu, Meru, Nyeri, Kericho, Narok, Kajiado,  Nakuru.

Other areas are; Elgeyo Marakwet, Kakamega, Uasin Gishu, Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Murang'a, Taita Taveta, Kisii, Homa Bay, Kisumu, Siaya, Baringo, West Pokot and Busia.

Residents have been asked to be on the lookout as floods might be experienced even in areas with less rain.

Landslides might also be triggered by the heavy rains in low-land areas and on the hilly grounds.

Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna on Tuesday said 132 people have died as a result of floods that have hit several parts in the country.

Some 330,000 people have been affected with 17,000 others being displaced.
