Officials from the Kenya Bureau of Standards and Public health have seized expired cooking oil, rice, sugar and flour worth more than Sh20 million in Eldoret.

The goods were found in a distribution store.

Two traders including a British national were arrested.

Eldoret West OCPD Zacharia Bitok said some of the goods expired in 2011

and had rotten.

He said the suspects would be charged in court.

"It's immoral and illegal for people to engage in such business of selling harmful products to the public," Bitok said.

The goods were being repackaged and branded afresh with fake KEBS stickers.

Two weeks ago, Police impounded a lorry ferrying fish allegedly imported from China.
