The body of a stowaway was found in a KQ flight from Kinshasa in the DRC on Sunday.

The body was found after the plane landed at the JKIA, preliminary reports indicating the person froze to death.

The victim was not identified immediately as there were no identification documents at the scene.

Police took the body to a mortuary and launched investigations.

On Sunday evening, at least four flights were diverted from the JKIA after a plane stalled on the runway for almost an hour.

The Phoenix plane destined for Ukunda, Kwale county, developed landing gear troubles.

Emergency services at the airport responded swiftly and cleared the runway, enabling the resumption of operations after about 40 minutes.

Kenya Airports Authority officials said flyers affected were those in two Kenya Airways and one Emirates flights to Mombasa.
