Nakuru boy, 10, hangs himself after cows stray to neighbour's farm

A 10-year-old boy in Mogitio, Nakuru, hanged himself after the animals he was looking after strayed to a neighbour's farm.

His mother left him behind as she has a charcoal burning business.

The class three pupil of Kelelwa Primary School committed suicide in a bush, fearing severe punishment by his parents.

"The boy fled and killed himself after the cows, sheep and goats he was herding strayed," said a villager who sought anonymity.

He killed himself on Wednesday morning but his body was found in the evening.

Mogotio location chief Julius Kangogo said investigations were launched.

The body was taken to Nakuru mortuary.

In 2016, a 10-year old boy committed suicide in Savannah estate, Nairobi, after arguing with is mother over a sum of Sh150.
