Special schools teachers will miss out on the Sh10,000 special allowances for October.

The Kenya Union of Special Needs Education Teachers secretary general James Torome (pictured) said he has received complaints from teachers that the special duty allowance is not on their payslips.

He said it as an error the TSC “should correct immediately”. But TSC head of communication Kihumba Kamotho said the missing allowance is a routine exercise done every three years to vet teachers and it will be repaid.

Torome said the TSC should vet teachers without omitting the allowance.
