Lamu woman rep opposes Sh180 billion project

Lamu woman representative Shakilla Abdalla has criticised the recent move by the NLC to give land rights to Amu Power. The company aims to set up a coal power plant. The project will cost Sh180 billion and is expected to generate 980 MW of power. Last week, NLC chairman Muhammad Swazuri gave the company the go-ahead to implement the project.
