Kenyan film to spread epilepsy awareness

A Kenyan filmmaker, Timothy Mwaura, has made a movie documenting the lives of people living with epilepsy to raise awareness about the condition. Titled Subira, the film is a result of a three-year journey across Kenya, where lives of people affected by the condition was captured. The film shows first-hand accounts from a wide range of people including doctors, activists, traditional healers and ordinary people living with epilepsy.

Titled Subira, the film is a result of a three-year journey across Kenya, where lives of people affected by the condition was captured. The film shows first-hand accounts from a wide range of people including doctors, activists, traditional healers and ordinary people living with epilepsy.

The movie was previewed on Monday at Nairobi's IMAX, in a partnership between the filmmaker, National Epilepsy Coordination Committee and Bank of Africa, through the Angaza Kifafa Campaign, to raise awareness about epilepsy in Kenya.
