KENYANS should not allow the massacre of KDF soldiers in Somalia on Friday to divide them, Meru woman representative Florence Kajuju has said.
Speaking at her office in Meru town on Saturday, she condoled with the families who have lost their loved ones.
“The blood that was shed on the battlefront was not in vain,” she said.
“It should bind us together and strengthen us to fight terrorism in unison. Our patriotism is under test and we are optimistic we will win in the end.”
Kajaju said Kenyans should pray for the KDF personnel in the battlefield.
She said the attack is a big blow to the elusive peacekeeping mission in the region.
The MP urged the President to set a date in the calendar for Kenyans to annually pay tribute to the soldiers who have lost their lives protecting the country.
Kajuju said the troops have sacrificed too much, including their lives, to ensure every Kenyan enjoys peace.
The MP praised the Kenyan media for reporting the soldiers’ death responsibly.
