THE Nairobi county government risks losing an acre in Kilimani.

The land contains housing for eight junior county staff.

It is alleged the property has been sold to an influential businessman.

The businessman, whom residents say is linked to a powerful politician, allegedly wants to demolish the houses and start a new project.

MCAs, led by Kariobangi North ward representative Robert Mbatia, yesterday said they want all transactions on the land stopped.

“We will consider going to court if transactions are not stopped,” Mbatia said.

He was speaking at the Kilimani plot.

The Public Accounts Committee said it has recommended an audit of all Nairobi assets.

Some tenants say they have been given vacate notices.
