Born 26 years ago in Eldama Ravine, Zablon Osiemo is a second born in a family of four. He went to Kamelilo Primary School and studied upto standard three. He could not continue with his schooling there after his parents bought land in Timboroa and they moved, which saw him being transferred to Equator Primary School where he proceeded with his education upto standard eight. While his sister preferred studying in a boarding school, Osiemo chose to be taught in a day school in the countryside as he was fascinated by rural living. He especially enjoyed running all the way from school to his home for lunch and then head back to school for afternoon classes. Osiemo also loved the idea of having to wake up at 4am for school. He says the darkest moments of his life was when 2007-08 post-election chaos hit the area and his family lost all their property in the skirmishes. His parents, however, managed to pick up the pieces and settled in Garissa. He says his fitness classes started as a way of passing time and with time it evolved into a passion and full-time job

-Main Story-

I wake up at 4am. I first give thanks to God for another bright day. Immediately after I take a glass of water then take a bath, get dressed, pack my gym clothes, and I'm all set to hit the gym, usually at 4.45am. I arrive at the fitness centre at 5am and begin working out which goes on until 6.30am.

I then settle break for breakfast usually comprised of one cup of milk, sweet potatoes, four egg whites, a banana or an apple.

I get down to work and first I finish any pending assignments before embarking on anything new. I'm a graphic editor at USN Kenya so I give priority to responding to questions from customers on supplement advice, and then draft a workout programme for new clients while I engage others online.

For lunch I prefer to have rice with chicken, beef or beans. I also drink lots of water.

I get home at 9pm and eat a light dinner. A bowl of salad and a piece of fish fillet or chicken does just fine.

Before retiring to bed I give thanks to God for seeing me through the day. I deactivate my data bundle and hit the sack at 10.30pm.

On Saturdays I wake up at the usual time, head to the gym and work half-day. In the afternoon I may go to a different gym to train there, just to change the environment. Afterwards I go home and take a well deserved rest.

On Sunday I extend my sleep to 10am. Before hitting the gym in the afternoon I first do general cleaning in my house. I catch up with friends soon after and head back to my abode to catch a movie.
