

Deputy Chief of Staff, Delivery and Government Efficiency Eliud Owalo has launched the Eliud Owalo Foundation (EOF), its five-year strategic plan, and unveiled the board of trustees in a ceremony attended by high-ranking government officials, diplomats, and corporate leaders.
The working breakfast event was held on Saturday morning at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, with European Union Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Henriette Geiger, serving as the Guest of Honour.
Owalo said the Foundation seeks to foster partnerships aimed at uplifting communities and empowering youth and women through sustainable initiatives.
“At the Foundation, we believe that with strategic partnerships, we can build a future where no youth, woman, or Kenyan is left behind,” he said.

The newly appointed Board of Trustees comprises distinguished professionals from various sectors.
They include Chris Mensah, Justice Joyce Aluoch, Dr. Esther Koimett, Dr. Mary Okelo, Amb. Raychelle Omamo, Eng. Jude Loveday, Amb. Philip Thigo, Angela Wamola, Phyllis Wakiaga, Prof. Hazel Miseda-Mumbo, Amb. Peter Oginga Ogego, Amb. Michael Oyugi, Humphrey Kayange, Ronnie Owino, Dr. Joseph ‘JJ’ Masiga, and Nahashon ‘Lule’ Oluoch.

The launch drew a notable gathering of national and county leaders, among them Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, and Vihiga Governor Wilber Otichilo, alongside former governors James Ongwae and Jack Ranguma.
Other dignitaries present included Raphael Tuju, Susan Nakhumicha, and SMACHS Foundation Founder and CEO
Charlene Ruto.

The event was also attended by Principal Secretary for Trade Regina Ombam and Principal Secretary for Youth Affairs Ismail Madey, as well as chairpersons, managing directors, and chief executives from various parastatals.
Among the Foundation’s partners and sponsors represented at the ceremony were Shafana Rajani-Kanani of the Aga Khan Development Network, Nation Media Group CEO Geoffrey Odundo, Radio Africa Group Editorial Director Paul Illado, Mpesa Foundation Chairman Joseph Ogutu, and Co-operative Bank Head of Institutional Banking Bernard Osoro.

The launch marked a key milestone for the Foundation, which aims to promote inclusive development through collaborations with the public and private sectors.

Owalo emphasized that the Foundation’s focus will be on empowerment, innovation, and equal opportunity for all Kenyans, noting that its strategic plan provides a roadmap for impactful programs across the country.
