Family, friends and creatives gathered on Tuesday to mourn the passing of Reggae MC Njambi Koikai.

The vigil was held at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi in honour of Koikai,  also known as Fyah Mummah.

Present during the event include Sports CS Ababu Namwamba.

Also present include actress Jacky Vike, popularly known as Awinja, Talia Oyando, Shix Kapienga and comedian Timothy Kimani popularly known as Njugush.

Namwamba eulogised Koikai as not only a cherished figure in the entertainment industry but also a passionate human rights activist.

"Njambi was a beacon of hope and equity, tirelessly advocating for fairness in our society. Her dedication to justice and equity is a passion we shared," Namwamba said.

The vigil meetings have been taking place from 5 pm to 8 pm every evening from Monday to allow family and friends to come together in a space of remembrance and comfort.

Creatives, colleagues and fans came together to celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many lives.

Tributes poured in, with many recalling her vibrant spirit, her infectious energy and her commitment to making a difference.

On Thursday, a memorial service will be held at Nairobi Chapel on Ngong Road.

She will be laid to rest on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Lang'ata Cemetery in Nairobi.
