President William Ruto on Monday met leaders from Embu County at State House, Nairobi to discuss the ban on muguka.
The meeting brought together Embu governor Cecily Mbarire, all elected MPs and MCAs from the county.

During the meeting, the President and Embu leaders noted that miraa/muguka is a scheduled crop in accordance with the Crops Act 2013 and the Miraa Regulations 2023.
The President in consequence directed the formation of a forum for stakeholders' engagement over the matter to address the stalemate surrounding the matter.
"Consequently, I have directed the Ministry of Agriculture to convene a forum of all parties and stakeholders concerned," Ruto said.
The meeting came after Kilifi and Mombasa counties announced a ban on the sale and distribution of muguka.
