The body of the Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla arrived at Kisumu International Airport on Sunday ahead of the burial at his Ng'iya village in Alego-Usonga, Siaya County.
The body was received by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua alongside top military officials and ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.
Present were Ogolla's wife and son.
A brief military parade was conducted at the airport in honour of General Ogolla before the body left for his rural home by road.
Locals lined up along the Kisumu- Bondo road to pay their last respects to General Ogola.
Already, President William Ruto has arrived at Senator Obama K'Ogello primary school in Siaya for the burial ceremony.
The Commander-in-Chief arrived at 9.50 am.
