Kisumu-India partnership births bone marrow transplant centre

Kisumu County has partnered with Fortis Hospital in Delhi, India, to establish an advanced Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology Centre.

In a statement, Kisumu governor Anyang' Nyong'o said the collaboration involves training local medical staff and setting up key facilities.

The facility includes a sickle cell rehabilitation centre, mental health clinic and installing necessary equipment.

"Today, we inspected the potential site for this project with the Fortis team and County Minister of Health, Dr Gregory Ganda, at Victoria Hospital, an annexe of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Milimani," he said.
