Trade and Investments Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Friday held a consultative meeting with US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman.
The two met in Nairobi to discuss the possible areas of trade investments between the two countries.
Whitman was in the company of other delegates from the US Embassy.
"We agreed to work together on critical issues, key among them how to make our Special Economic Zones and Export Processing Zones globally competitive," Kuria said.
Kuria said he and his team also discussed the upcoming US roadshow later in the year, US apparel buyers meetings in Kenya, and the preparedness towards the next American Chamber of Commerce summit in February.
