Former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho graced the Annual Eid Baraza in Mombasa days after he appeared to the public following months of absence.
As Joho made his entrance to the venue donning a turquoise green kanzu, he was warmly received by the people of Mombasa.
He walked on a red carpet as people clapped and shouted his name.
"It was an honor to join Mombasa residents and the coast political leadership in the Annual Eid Baraza at the famous Treasury Square, Mombasa," he said.
"Our unity and diversity will remain to be our greatest strength."
The Annual Eid Baraza brings together all residents from across the county to mark Eid-ul-Fitr.
He thanked Mombasa Governor Abdulswammad Nassir for keeping the tradition in line with the Mombasa Governor's office.
This is the third time in three weeks that Joho has made a public appearance in Mombasa.
Two weeks ago, he made an unexpected stop at Tudor Mwisho stage on his way to Mvita MP Masoud Machele's office.
On Friday, Joho spoke after the Eid prayers at Fahari Primary School and pledged his support to Azimio leader Raila Odinga's led demos.
He said he had been away for health reasons and he is on a recovery journey.
