Vihiga residents on Friday staged peaceful protests over the high cost of living in the country.

The protesters held placards and walked around Vihiga town.

The residents decried the high cost of living and Competency-Based Curriculum.

Some of the placards read: "Maisha imetulemea punguza bei ya unga" Life is hard on us, reduce the price of unga.

"CBC juu, unga juu, maisha juu, punda amechoka" CBC is expensive, unga is expensive, life is expensive, we are tired.

The protesters were also joined by BodaBoda riders.
