Former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i on Tuesday left the Directorate of Criminal Investigations office after hours of grilling.

Supporters of the former CS treated him to a warm reception as he left the headquarters.

The former CS was seen waving to the crowd that was waiting outside the DCI headquarters.

People who had gathered outside the gate waved back at him.

He was accompanied by politicians and lawyers.

The former CS was being grilled over the alleged police raid at his Karen home on the night of February 8 which police insist never happened. 

Police said they found Matiang'i answerable to two charges relating to the alleged raid.

The first charge is a conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to Section 317 of the Penal Code and publication of false information contrary to Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act.
