Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Wafula on Monday toured Marimanti Level 4 Hospital in Tharaka Nithi County.
The CS who was accompanied by Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthoni Njuki assessed the infrastructure at the facility as the country continues to focus on timely, quality and affordable service delivery.
She said the Ministry will support the facility with equipment such as a CT scan to improve the quality of services.
She further said the development of a telemedicine platform on Google will allow patients to access consultations from top health professionals and reduce the challenges of travel for medical services.
The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council has been issuing approvals for various registered and licensed health institutions to offer virtual medical services.
So far, about 20 health facilities have received approvals from KMPDC to offer telemedicine services in the country.
The CS also interacted with patients at the facility and listened to issues affecting the staff in their day-to-day operations.
