Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday held a consultative meeting on the drought situation in the country.

In a statement, Gachagua said the government is committed to implementing various initiatives to intervene in the ongoing drought.

"We have mapped out the next phase of intervention following the December short rains to ensure affected counties get food and water for the people and livestock," he said.
