Livestock freely roam in the streets of Kitui town, day and night.

The animals include cows, donkeys and even goats.

Residents mingle with a herd of cattle, which after grazing within the town centre, rest on the road next to the shops.

The sole responsibility rests with the county's Livestock Development and Agriculture department that should ensure the animals are removed from the township and their owners served with warnings.

Residents say they are worried of being involved in accidents.
