President William Ruto on Thursday met with the representatives of the Dawoodi Bohra Community at the State House.
The community is a sect of Ismaili Shia Islam headed by His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.
Ruto said the members in Kenya have been sharing their resources to take care of the environment and impact the lives of those around them.
“Community service is a noble ethic that is essential for the betterment of society,” Ruto said.
This is the first time Ruto has met the Bohras as the President.
On July 27, 2016, he held consultations with Saifuddin who is the 53rd spiritual leader of the community.
“Members of the Bohra community have made massive investments in furniture, real estate and other sectors and Kenya is not complete without them,” Ruto told him.
Ruto, then deputy president, had flown to Mombasa to receive the spiritual leader.
