Locals at Mukuru Kayaba have decried abandoned roadworks that have since become a menace.

Nairobi river, running through the estates, has solid plastic wastes piled along the estates leaving residents with no option other than living in despair.

Exposed water pipes running through open sewage pose the risk of spreading diseases such as cholera and typhoid.

Small children are also at risk of falling into the open sewage which may result in avoidable injuries or worse off even deaths.

Business owners selling foodstuffs along the roads are crying about poor customer flow as people don't want to buy products from dirty environments.

Families with houses near the road are complaining of a bad smell which is affecting their health.

The residents are urging the county government to come to their aid and make the place fit and decent.
